Hyde Park to the Botanical Gardens

Next stop the Botanical gardens. Certainly these gardens are no match for the gardens across SE Asia for shear range of plants and layout - but it does provide one of the best and most iconic views in Sydney. The panoramic view of the harbour with the Opera House in the foreground backed by the Harbour Bridge (and one must admit a very unsightly tower block which the planners must have been berated for!! A real blot on the landscape and horror for any photographer after that perfect shot)… Still that said with a little careful placing of vegetation or selecting the right angle it is possible to get a pretty good shot :) Also be aware that in the Botanical Gardens there are the occasional animals hanging in the bushes/trees… hmmm… what I mean is there are big spiders just sitting in webs hoping for a passing horse to get trapped…. Ok … Ok… I overstate their size but for an arachnophobia they are BIG 0_0 you will be entertained by raucous cockatoos and a range of avian life active within the park and focused on the few tourists feeding them!
