St Marys Cathedral
Walking away from the memorial you are cushioned from the traffic by the tranquillity of Hyde Park… Then you come across another soaring piece of grand architecture - this time in the form of St Mary’s cathedral. I am lost for words as I walk around the structure finding every entrance, archway and roof beam adorned by detailed stonework. One doorway of particular interest had either side of the entrance the signs for Alpha and Omega (to represent both the beginning and the end). Inside it just becomes more magnificent with a huge vaulted ceiling, carved stone pulpit, warmly glowing stain-glass windows, iconic paintings and lifelike sculptures.
