Well to sum Nha Tramg up in two words "Beach resort" just about covers it! There is a 6km strech of impressively fine sand backed by a mountain range. A promenade runs almost the full length of the beach and this has led to rapid development of new hotels and malls as more long haul tourists arrive... I counted over 10 large multi storey developments along the strip and there is almost no space for any more!!
It is clean, cheap and popular with western tourists as they lounge (as i did) on their wicker chairs sipping mocktails and chomping down on seafood. If you are after a fab beach holiday with thundering surf where you can play amongst the waves with kite surfing lessons or jet skis then this is the place for you :) However, if a beach is not your kind of holiday then there are plenty of other places of more interest in Vietnam!
It does have one claim to fame however, which is the fact that this is where the Americans chose to land their first forces into Vietnam.
