I have finally run out of superlatives, the Grand Canyon will just blow you away… Awe inspiring, magnificent and definitely worthy of the name ‘Grand’ Canyon.
My brother once said to me, after his trip to the Grand Canyon, that it was like looking at a picture because your mind found it hard to deal with the shear scale of the place - over 6000ft deep and several miles wide!! It is only now, after standing on the Southern Rim that I fully understand what he said… It really is like looking at a picture - your mind finds it hard to comprehend the scale while the ‘haze’ in the canyon creates a visual effect making it seem like you are looking at a painting or photograph… There is nothing to give it scale apart from the few people along the rim and some daring people climbing down on the Grand Canyon Village trail. Amazing! My pictures will not do it any justice - as one of the seven natural wonders of the world you must come here yourself to get it…
Highly recommended. But if you have the chance stay in the village and climb down the trail. Next time ;)
