Decided to splash out today and head on a tour with a local company around the volcanic landscape of Hawaii’s big island. Total cost $117 including all meals and entry fees.
Meeting at the companies office (literally 20 feet from the hostel) we are all treated to macadamia nuts coated in chocolate and filter coffee. There are five of us on the tour in total and this means we have lots of space in the mini-van ;) Our guide ‘Emma’ is a fount of knowledge and a really warm person, always catering to our every need and giving us a ‘local’ insight into the stories behind the volcanic eruptions and the life of local people. Could not have asked for anyone better - Thank you.
